What is this module about?
Solutions Journalism is a form of reporting that explores how people and institutions are addressing societal problems. It focuses on the response, evidence of its effectiveness and the lessons learned. The core concept revolves around the Four Pillars of Solutions Journalism: (1) problem, (2) the response or proposed solution, (3) the evidence and (4) the limitations. By showing what works, and under what conditions, it builds public trust and encourages civic engagement.
Who is this training for?
Journalists, editors, and media professionals ready to move past problem-focused reporting and create stories that resonate, inspire, and make a real impact. Training is for those ready to go beyond problem-focused stories and explore how people, communities and institutions are reposing to challenges, highlighting evidence-based solutions, and sparking more informed public dialogue. Stories told this way stay with your audience long after they’re read or seen.
