Inclusive Coverage and Representation

Put responsibility and inclusion at the heart of your reporting. This training will deepen knowledge of journalists and editors in delivering fair, inclusive reporting, cultivate empathy and raise the profile of women and marginalized groups in the public space.

What is this module about?

The Inclusive Coverage and Representation module addresses the critical need for fairness, sensitivity, and awareness in media reporting, especially during the elections. It explores how journalists can navigate the space between ethical principles and everyday pressures, such as political or commercial interests, to produce responsible and impactful reporting.

Who is this training for?

Journalists, editors and media professionals interested in building media that are fairer, more sensitive, and more aware of the social power they hold. Participants will learn to recognize bias, apply principles of inclusive reporting, and support colleagues in implementing these practices across their newsrooms. It is particularly suited for experienced media professionals.

Language

This training can be delivered in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, in English or in any of the local languages.

Format approach

Module relies on a dialogue-based learning approach in which participants co-create knowledge through sharing examples, emotions, and ethical dilemmas. The trainer acts as a facilitator, encouraging reflection and creating space for every participant’s voice.
